Lethal brings a sound very much in the mold of early Queensryche and Crimson Glory. Not quite as etched and refined, but definitely in the same arena. The band is also specifically cited by Hollow on its 'Architect of the Mind' release as being an influence, which is a big enough plug for me! The vocal work is almost pure early Geoff Tate. The good and swift "Fire in Your Skin" is the first track, and is quickly followed by a number of strong tunes, including the title track with its soaring chorus, and the intricate and sharp "Arrival." "What They've Done" is good, and a smooth and driving rhythm makes "Obscure the Sky" a high point, while "Immune" is also driving, but also faster. "Killing Machine" is a thumping finale, and brings a no-nonsense close to an overlooked offering of power/prog tunes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRACK LIST: 1.
