westphalianprinz 2008-03-31 17:50:23 Yeah, that's a problem. Usually the best retrievers wind up being gun shy. The reason why I say this is because he shows really strong drive, and he reacts very quickly to commands. Obedience or agility trials might be useful. That fetching behavior seems obsessive, but it's actually the sign of a dog that will be very easily trained to do lots of things. It matters not the breed, but if it shows fetching behavior, it will be easily trained. This is what a service dog trainer once told me. __________________________________________________
luv1dem1dogz 2008-03-31 09:49:18 I have no clue. He probably is though because he doesn't even like the vacum cleaner. However you spell it. Thank you for the suggestion. __________________________________________________
westphalianprinz 2008-03-31 09:20:06 That dog is fast for a golden retriever. Is he gun shy? If not, I'd say you should trial him. __________________________________________________
