14-month-old Lumi Googles!

Description: We have a 37-inch LCD monitor that also doubles as our TV. So all of our web surfing is done in our living room on our Linux home entertainment system. Lumi and I have a game we like to play together with this setup. I ask her to come Google with me. That means we open up the Google images search and I search for things that Lumi can recognize (cows, dogs, cranes, babies, etc.). One day I asked my husband to Google something for her. He searched up an image of a cow, and I asked her what it was. She pointed at the screen (which still showed the Google logo in the left corner) and said "Google!" Lumi has very few words in her budding bilingual vocabulary. So, if that doesn't say how important the Internet is to our lives, I don't know what does! Anyway, we were so amused by the incident that we asked her to say it again for the camera when we went to go eat lunch.
