you dont need the remote at all, just hit Apple+Escape to bring up front row

Thanks for this tip! (I mean the desktop changing). I don't think I'll use it, but its interesting anyway! I found out the remote sticks to the lid after I saw someone else do it on youtube, pretty neat. It does not work on my macbook pro though, because the pro does not use a magnetic latch!

You're right! you can't let the remote there forever. if you only use it at home you don't need to close it. ;-)

Actually I dont use an app! ;-) You just go to preferences > desktop and select change every minute, hour month etc...
