Things were SO f'ed up that the (mostly Democrat) press had to invent a way to gauge just how bad things were under Carter. Meanwhile the Bush economy is approaching a budget surplus, unemployment is at an all-time low, incomes are up 40% from ten years ago, and all this time we've been at war there has been no rationing, no sacrifices for the population as a whole, no more 9/11's...
