rrrrttt99 ::: Favorites 2007-02-17 21:29:11 You seem to have a talent for reframing conflicts to focus on obtaining mutual benefits. The YouTube debates about God are sadly lacking that focus. __________________________________________________
2of6Solutions ::: Favorites 2007-02-17 21:46:32 Thanks for that....can you imagine what the conversations would look like if the only focus was understanding what each other was needing and how to make it happen happen for each other. I would enjoy that. __________________________________________________
Xelanderthomas ::: Favorites 2007-02-18 02:38:41 That was brilliant man. I was in a relationship... or should say "had a thang" with someone who was a master at making sure you felt their pain. It ultimately had to end. __________________________________________________
curt344 ::: Favorites 2007-02-18 12:38:47 This is the difference between talking *with* people, rather than talking *at* them. *HIT!* ...oops, wait, wrong site... *5 stars* __________________________________________________
Thinking4Yourself ::: Favorites 2007-02-22 09:34:14 Hey 2of6, I haven't forgotten about you...I'll be making my response vid in a little bit..Thanks for the thoughtful words. __________________________________________________
2of6Solutions ::: Favorites 2007-02-23 10:19:45 Excellent I am eagerly looking forward to learning more about you and your values. I very much appreciate your willing to take the time and share in this way, it meets my need for understanding and connection. B-) __________________________________________________
Katalyzt ::: Favorites 2007-02-28 15:39:11 Not sure if you only wanted an answer from Thinking4Yourself. But I believe that of we(human race) all agreed that there is no god, then 95% of the wars(past and present) would not have happened/would not be happening. And the last 5% of wars would have been/are over the acquisition of land and/or property. Katalyzt __________________________________________________
2of6Solutions ::: Favorites 2007-03-01 12:27:19 Thank you for your comment. If you have not checked out Thinking4yourself's response to my video be sure to do so. She addresses the issue you have brought up. If war did not exist what would be great about that for you? I know, silly question but I programed to ask B-) __________________________________________________
Katalyzt ::: Favorites 2007-03-01 15:41:35 "If war did not exist what would be great about that for you?" Well, let see: what wound be great about it: is less stress, less stagnation, less harm, less deaths; more free thought, and more room for growth, both as a race, and in technology. To summarize: Pretty much less of everything caused by religion/theist, and more growth/progress for the human race. Katalyzt __________________________________________________
2of6Solutions ::: Favorites 2007-03-01 16:03:36 Less death, less stress, less destruction to humans and property, I can see how all of that could be derived as a result of the absence of war. You also added "more free thought, more room for growth, and less stagnation." If you are willing, I would like to better understand how you see war contributing to the lessening of these particulars. __________________________________________________
pdoeman ::: Favorites 2007-03-02 12:44:18 I am an atheist. I am not naive enough to think that the end of religion would mean world peace. The thing is that there is no god, yet political policy and wars are influenced by theistic belief. Unfortunately religion is not a rational philosophy and so it does not provide a useful basis for serious decision making. __________________________________________________
2of6Solutions ::: Favorites 2007-03-02 22:14:07 Pdoeman, I guess what you are saying is that world peace is going to take more than the absence of religion, its going to take useful, rational and serious decision making. Sounds reasonable to me. __________________________________________________ |
