its okay to test siren and lights once in a while but there is a diffrence bewteen testing and playing around any 1 agree???

wow. Anyway, when an officer does a demo, does he have to get a permission from the police department in order to do that? Sometimes, if the siren if left on all the time, it can cause some discomfort in the ear. How can one manage to concentrate on doing his duty with the siren on while in vehicular pursuit? The siren doesn't have volume control, does it?

whats the big deal about turning the siren on? My dad is a cop and we mess around all the time. Nobody cares...civilians or the dept.

umm this guy isnt a cop... if he is then he should know he cant run code without being in an appropriate situation. he could be fired for doing that. besides in my cruiser when i fire up the overheads it turns on the camra and i get questioned if i didnt call it in

well yeah playing and testing are 2 different things, myne already worked and i knew that, they tested the, for me at the dept. but i went home and just started messin around with the sirens and thats what got me in trouble. and you said lights above its okay to test the lights whenever you want because that dosent disturb anyone but say if i flip on my sirens they make ALOT of noise and that disrtubs you.

haha yeah the first thing i did when i became a deputy was play with the lights and sirens, thats when i found out its not aloud in public w/o traffic or chase. yeah u cant have a bad temper when ur a cop, they will kick u right off the force, but u should try to get help for that ;)

thank you for replying, I wanted to be a police because of the POLICE CAR! I SO WANT to turn on the siren and go over the city. Everyone looking at you and all that stuff. I dunno the dress makes them look taller and stronger. Its just that at night, I dont like getting out of my car with a torch looking in bushes lol. I have mixed feelings about being a cop. My teacher says I have everything to be a cop the temper and respect. I dunno. Sorry. lol

trust me, i know what UC cars look like, besides if he was a cop, he would know that it is against the rules to use his sirens in public with out being in a chase or doing a traffic stop....nough said..
